all my ex’s… part 2
during a recent study on giving i came to see
that the reason we do or do not give
comes down to our ex’s
last post i wrote about excuses
today lets look at
ex #2 – exposure
excuses reveal what our priorities are not
exposure reveals what our priorities need to be
have you ever had the weird feeling
that you were the only real person in the world
and that everyone else were just actors in your life
it is easy to do
we live our lives focused on our lives
we see our needs
we feel our wants
we focus on our desires
we are our only perspective
then…
suddenly or gradually
we find ourselves in the middle
of a circumstance
that reveals to us
there are others
and when your focus is placed on other’s lives
it thrusts you into another world all together
that is the power of exposure
people with problems
folks with feelings
individuals with issues
the homeless mother of three
the dying child
the unemployed dad
the lonely rich man
the grieving family
the ___________
even as i am writing this my focus is shifting
from me to them
first i ask why them & why not me
then i ask how could i help
which brings me to what can i give
that is the power of exposure
want an incentive to give more
just look around

it has been a while since i added a post
and even longer since i posted on a regular basis
i felt a tad guilty about it
for a little while
then i got over that
and just did not care about it
now i am starting to care about it again
and caring is a good feeling
so
it may not be as regular as it was
or even always profound
but i am on my way back

we are so excited to announce

the hills fellowship will begin meeting
at John Wesley United Methodist Church
every tuesday at 7pm
901 BENTON AVENUE
NASHVILLE, TN 37204
as we drove around the area looking for venues
JWUMC was our first choice
we are so blessed!

the words of joshua ragsdale in the words of anthony skinner [whew that's a long title]

hosted an event last night
celebrating the life of my brother, Joshua
i want to thank them for loving Josh
and for all that they did to show it
he loved them just as much
it was great to see some dear friend at the event
one of them is a guy that you hear me talk about all the time
i am an Anthony Skinner fanatic
i love this guy
i am crazy about his music
but i am more crazy about Anthony
as soon as i met him
i knew that he and Joshua had to meet
i knew they would love each other
i told both of them so
they did
and i was right

CARLS IS BAD!
the boys & i are ministering in big spring, tx
at life church with pastors clint & kami collins
we love these folks!
yesterday they took us to carlsbad caverns
it was breathtaking
because we walked FOREVER!
really…
it was incredible to see
and even more amazing to experience with my boys
after losing joshua
i realize more than ever
how important it is to make memories
this is a wonderful one
